Understanding the burden of infant RSV in your local area

The burden of infant RSV in your constituency

Data on RSV-related hospital admissions has been broken down locally to show the impact infant RSV has on the NHS in each constituency in England.

You can view data for each constituency by using the filter tool on this page to show you:

  • How many RSV-related patients under 5 were admitted to hospital;
  • Their average age;
  • Number of days they occupied a bed;
  • The cost of their treatment as a whole and per patient.
  • You can compare your local data against the national average for England to see whether your area is below or above average.

All data has been compiled from Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) data using RSV and Acute Bronchiolitis indicators for those under 5 years old. Data relates to April 2019 ─ March 2020 and April 2022 – March 2023 to demonstrate the pre-COVID and post-COVID years.1
